NuRi began as a small, heartfelt initiative during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Our founders, sisters Padmakshi and Swasti, started gathering neighborhood children for weekly storytelling sessions, aiming to raise awareness about child sexual abuse. These sessions, held both online and in a hybrid mode, started as small, informal gatherings but quickly revealed the profound potential of storytelling as a tool for education, empowerment, and connection.

What began with a focus on safety soon grew into something much larger. The success of these initial sessions inspired NuRi to broaden its scope, encompassing not just child protection, but also legal education, emotional well-being, and social awareness.

Today, NuRi continues to harness the transformative power of storytelling to nurture children’s rights, amplify their voices, and support their growth in an ever-changing world. Our programs have evolved to meet the unique challenges faced by children today, providing a holistic approach that not only addresses their immediate needs but also equips them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in the long term.
